PULASKI — The Pulaski Yankees batters beat up on four Elizabethton pitchers putting up double-digits runs and hits in a 10-5 win Tuesday night at Calfee Park.
The Yanks, who pounded out 13 hits, took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a double by Roberto Chirinos and two-out single by Ryder Green.
The Twins took the lead in the third on a two run homer by Spencer Steer .
Pulaski got back on top in the bottom of the third after walks to Borinquen Mendez, Antonio Cabello, Oliver Dunn, Green and Saul Torres forced in two runs.
In the Yankees’ fourth, Spencer Henson led off with a solo homer to left. Jake Pries followed with a double, his first hit as a Yankee, but was thrown out at the plate trying to score on a single by Mendez, who proceeded to steal second and third and scored on a groundout by Chirinos as the Yankees led 5-2.
In the fifth, following an Oliver Dunn single and a Green double, Torres singled plating Dunn but was thrown out trying stretch the hit in to a double. However, a two out double by Henson and a single by Pries drove in two more Pulaski runs to make the score 8-2.
In the sixth, the Twins loaded the bases with no outs. A strikeout, a sacrifice fly and a groundout limited the damage to only one run.
The Yanks answered in the bottom of the sixth on a single by Chirinos, a stolen base and an Antonio Cabella RBI single.
RBIs by Anthony Prato and Alex Isola brought Elizabethton to within four runs, 9-5, in the seventh.
Pulaski added its final run in the seventh when Madison Santos singled, stole second and scored on a Mendez single.
Reliever Reid Anderson picked up his first win throwing 3 1/3 innings, giving up one run on three hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
Green, Torres and Henson drove in two runs each and Chirinos, Henson and Mendez scored a pair each for Pulaski.
The final game of the “Stars and Stripes” series kicks off Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Calfee Park
