Franklin County scored nine times in the top of the fourth inning on the way to a 15-0 nondistrict baseball victory over Hidden Valley on Saturday.

The Eagles’ Cameron Mullins threw a complete-game one-hitter, striking out 10 with no walks. The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

At the plate, Mullins added three hits with four RBIs and two runs scored. Colton Kent added three hits with two RBIs and scored twice, and Hunter Cannaday hit two doubles, driving in three runs.

Joey Robertson had a hit for the Titans.

MONETA — Spencer Morrison hit a bases-loaded double, plating three runs in the second inning and two Cavaliers pitchers allowed only five hits.

Winning pitcher Griffin Agee threw 4 1/3 shutout innings, giving up two hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.

Jared Mayhew had a two-run double in the sixth inning and Nick Funk went 2 for 3 for the Golden Eagles.

Collin Bates threw a complete-game five-hitter with five strikeouts and two walks for Staunton River.

Chilhowie 20, George Wythe 5, 5 inn.

BASTIAN — The Warriors overcame a 4-0 deficit by exploding for 15 runs in the top of the fourth and five more in the fifth to knock off the Maroons in the first game of the Yo-Na Invitational.

Chilhowie’s Logan Branson had two hits, including a two-run double, with four RBIs and two runs scored. Ethan Armstrong had two hits with three RBIs and scored.

The Warriors had 11 hits and were the recipient of 13 walks.

Avery Mabe drove in a pair of runs and Cole Simmons scored twice for George Wythe which was limited to four hits.

Josh Presley and Colby Taylor combined to pitch a no-hitter, while Zach Brown drove in five runs to propel the Rebels.

PH-Glade Spring pushed across 13 runs in the fourth inning en route to the win. Ean Rhea contributed two hits and three RBIs as the Rebels remained unbeaten.

Bland County 12, Mt View, W.Va. 0, 5 inn.

BASTIAN — Jake Watters threw a no-hitter, striking out 15, and drove in two runs with a triple, as the Bears won their season opener.

Trey Compton went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored, and Grayson Dillow scored three runs for Bland County.

Rural Retreat 13, Northwood 2, 5 inn.

BASTIAN — Winning pitcher Wesley Gilman threw a complete-game two-hitter with five strikeouts, and the Indians pounded out 17 hits.

Daniel Mabe had three hits, driving in a run and scoring three, Brady Smith was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Colby Sprouse and RJ Bandrimer each knocked in three runs.
