May 21, 2019 Sandy Cox Miller, of Mechanicsville, Va., formerly of Roanoke County, Va., went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and May Cox, whom she loved dearly. Sandy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ed Miller; sons, Joshua (Kristin), Jonathan (Heather), and James Miller; three grandchildren, Finn, Amalie, and Silas Miller; and many extended family members and friends. Sandy received degrees from both Radford University and Old Dominion University and retired from the VA Hospital System with 31 years of service. She loved Jesus and was involved in numerous activities at Cool Spring Baptist Church and had many friends there. She was a kindhearted person who never met a stranger or spoke ill of anyone. Sandy loved her children and grandchildren as much as anyone possibly could. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Cool Spring Baptist Church, 9283 Atlee Station Road, Mechanicsville, with services beginning at 11 a.m. A reception will begin immediately following the service. Sandy's family and friends will gather for her entombment in Hollywood Cemetery at 2 p.m.
