JONES Maggie Dillard Calloway June 24, 1932 June 6, 2019 Mrs. Maggie Dillard Calloway Jones, peacefully entered Heavens gates in the early morning hours on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from the Friendship Health and Rehab Center. She was born June 24, 1932 to the late Joe L. and Estelle M. Dillard. She was predeceased by her first husband, Moses Calloway Jr. and her late husband of 52 years, the Rev. Napoleon Jones Jr. Mrs. Jones attended Bedford County Schools and was active for many years at Forest Level Baptist Church in Forest, Va. After moving to Hollins she became active at First Baptist Church of Hollins where she served as a Girl Scout Leader, as well as in the Deaconess Ministry and Missionary Ministry. Mrs. Jones was also active in the Ministers' Wives Association. After working for a time at Eli Lily, Mrs. Jones retired from Hollins College. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sibling Mrs. Jones was a friend and caregiver to many. It was as if her life's mission was to make sure everyone around her was okay. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Aaron Calloway; four brothers, Joe Dillard, Sidney Dillard, Todd Dillard and Ralph Dillard; two sisters, Emma Ward and Elsie Wade. Survivors include eight children, the Rev. Charles (Drema) Calloway, Barry Calloway, Carolyn (Thomas) Tucker, Barbara Lewis, Gregory Jones, Gladys (Travis) Wiley, Barbara Jones and Jesse (Felicia Sparrow) Jones; four sisters, Gladys (Arthur) Trice, Estelle "Sallie" Harris, Lillie Smith, Shirley (Stanley) Crews; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters-in-law, Lois Dillard, Dianne Dillard, Audrey Dillard; and a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Homegoing celebration will be at 2 p.m Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Hollins, 8613 Reservoir Rd, Roanoke, Va. The family visitation will be one hour prior to service.
