CAMPBELL Sarah Emogene Meador December 21, 1925 June 6, 2019 Sarah Emogene (Gene) Meador Campbell, 93, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Roanoke, Va., passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, after a brief illness. Gene was born in Roanoke, Va. on December 21, 1925, the daughter of the late William E. and Rosa Meador. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William B. "Bill" Campbell; her sister and best friend, Erma Heck; and brothers, William E. "Peanut" Meador Jr., Paul D. "Donnie" Meador, Jack F. Meador, and John R. "Bobby" Meador. Gene is survived by her sons, John Campbell and wife Terry of Richmond, Va., and Richard Campbell and wife Drema of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; daughter, Barbara Goodall and husband Lury of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Granville Meador of Roanoke, Va.; sister, Betty Ann (Ben) Larson of Ohio; brother-in-law, Robert (Susie) Campbell of Vinton, Va., and well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gene was always there for her children, working briefly at Woolco Department Store. She enjoyed her church, grandchildren, square dance, and traveling with her husband and family members. Graveside services will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, VA on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Huntington Court United Methodist Church, 3333 Williamson Rd., Roanoke, VA 24012 or Embrace Hospice House, 175 Village Center Blvd., Myrtle Beach, SC 29579. Arrangements are under the direction of McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
