Blacksburg teen Dorathea Keys found a floundering baby owl in her backyard on Linwood Lane earlier this year. “Rowl” was 3 ½ weeks old when the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center took over his care. To prepare him for the wild, the owl was hand fed then taught to fly and hunt. The owl was rehabbed by the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center and released by naturalist Haley Olsen-Hodges on Monday evening.
