Roanoke City Public Schools will host a “meet the candidate” event at Patrick Henry High School on Monday night to introduce a candidate for the school’s principal.
The name of the candidate will be released during the meeting, schools spokesman Justin McLeod said.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in Patrick Henry’s auditorium.
More candidate meetings after Monday are “a possibility,” McLeod said.
Kathy Duncan is vacating the job June 30 to serve as principal for the Roanoke Technical Education Center and director of career and technical education. Duncan previously held positions there from 2009 to 2018.
At a school board meeting last month, some parents of Roanoke students said they are concerned about leadership changes at the school, and requested public meetings be held to gather input on the new hire.
