Roanoke police have made multiple arrests regarding the recent robberies in the city.

  • Andre Paul Martin, 45, of Roanoke, was arrested and charged Thursday in a robbery at Loan Max on Jan. 22.

Police spokesman Scott Leamon said Martin is also a suspect in a Jan. 25 robbery at CVS in the 1900 block of Orange Avenue. Leamon said the descriptions of the suspects in both robberies had similar characteristics.

  • Zachary Tyler Hill, 18, of Salem has been arrested and was charged Thursday with robbery after a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was mugged Jan. 27 in the 100 block of Beech Street. The delivery driver told investigators that three men were involved.
  • Matthew Williams, 32, of Roanoke was charged with robbing the Fast Auto & Payday Loans in the 4800 block of Williamson Road on Tuesday. Police were called to the scene about 4 p.m., where an employee told officers that a man walked into the store with a ski mask and demanded money before fleeing with an undisclosed amount, Leamon said. He said the threat of a weapon was involved.

At the time of the incident, responding officers were already in the area conducting robbery prevention patrols and were able to broadcast the suspect’s description. Patrol officers soon stopped a man on a bicycle who matched that description, and Williams was taken into custody.
