A Roanoke man has been arrested by New York State Police in relation to a May killing and robbery in Roanoke County, according to police.

Andrew Jeffers, 47, is in Albany County Jail and will be extradited to Virginia, according to a New York State Police press release Monday.

Jeffers is the fourth person Roanoke County Police have charged in connection to what police say was a botched robbery in the Cave Spring area on May 19.

Police previously arrested Shamby Marie Walker, Aaron Rashad Witcher and a 17-year-old whose name has not been released.

Jeffers is charged with assisting in the robbery, according to a June 4 press release from Roanoke County Police.

Franklin County resident Amber C. Ross died of a gunshot wound after a dispute arose among people in the house where the killing took place.

Police have released few details about what happened. A New York State Police spokesman did not respond to messages late Monday seeking more information.
