Giles County Public Schools is once again participating in the Summer Food Service Program, which kicked off June 10 and continues until mid-August.
Now in its seventh year, the Giles Summer Food Service Program provides free meals to all children up to age 18 throughout the program period. Adults can also enjoy these meals with a small charge for dine-in or take-out.
Meals will be provided at the following locations (please note that dates and times may be subject to change):
- Narrows High School -- Monday thru Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., through Aug. 15. This site will be closed week of July 1. Adults can eat for $2.50 dine-in or $3.50 take-out.
- Pearisburg Town Pool -- Seven days a week, 1 to 3 p.m., through Aug. 15. This site is offering meal kits with milk.
- Pearisburg Town Library -- Monday thru Friday, noon to 2 p.m., through Aug. 15. This site will be closed July 4 and 5. Meal kits with milk will be available here as well.
Narrows High School meals will feature fresh produce and beef from the Giles County Agricultural Lab. Arts and craft activities will also be offered at the high school, sponsored by GEEP and funded by No Kid Hungry. Limited transportation to the NHS site may be available.
