Jonathan Kabongo, rated the No. 35 high school senior point guard in the nation by ESPN, announced on Twitter today that he has decided to play basketball at Virginia Tech next season.

Kabongo, who was plagued by a back injury last season, has transferred to Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut for this season. The 6-foot-1, 178-pound Kabongo is a Toronto native who previously played for Huntington Prep in West Virginia.

He also had offers from Indiana, Missouri and Washington State, according to ESPN. He visited Virginia Tech this weekend, according to ESPN.

He is the brother of former University of Texas standout Myck Kabongo.
