PAUL JOHNSON ON WHETHER QB TAQUON MARSHALL CAN COMPLETE MORE PASSES: "Certainly we need to be more efficient throwing the ball. I see no reason that he can't do it. He's got the ability and the skill level. I think TaQuon would be the first guy to tell you he missed a lot of open guys. You hit three or four of those play-action [passes] where guys are running behind people, all of a sudden your efficiency rating looks a lot better."

QB TAQUON MARSHALL ON THE OFFENSE: "Every team that we play is going to try to stop the run game. They're going to try to keep me from running the ball so much. So that opens it up for me to let the guys around me make the plays. I'm going to put the ball in their hands and let them work."

LB BRANT MITCHELL ON NEW DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR NATE WOODY'S SYSTEM: "This defense will be simple enough to where we can go out there and don't have to think much and [can] just go play. That'll be good for the young guys — maybe not worrying about what all the calls involve or what else is going on, as long as you know your position."
