"And I meant every word I said," when I said that classic rock band REO Speedwagon is coming back to Roanoke.
The band, which retains singer Kevin Cronin and two other classic-era members, is scheduled for Nov. 12 at Berglund Performing Arts Theatre. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, with a VIP package available starting 10 a.m. Wednesday. Tickets are $99.50, $69.50, and $59.50. You'll take 'em on the run, won't you?

The midwestern U.S. pop-infused rockers, famous for "I Can't Fight This Feeling" and "Ridin' The Storm Out," among other ditties, last played Roanoke in April 2013, part of a dino triple-bill with Styx and Ted Nugent. REO headlined that show at Roanoke Civic Center Coliseum, since rechristened with the car dealer's corporate branding.
The 2013 triple-bill drew 3,552. REO, at the height of its commercial powers, drew 11,000 to the civic center in 1981.
