Salem Civic Center is making some interesting musical moves of late. The most recent, announced this morning, is it's Strings & Things: Vol. 1 — four days of music at the civic center the city farmer's market and two Salem-based breweries. 

Newgrass/jamgrass rising star Greensky Bluegrass is atop the bill, closing the series on Sept. 29 at Salem Civic Center. Jamband Perpetual Groove headlines a Sept. 28 bill at Salem Farmer's Market, with Big Daddy Love, Morgan Wade & The Stepbrothers and Charissa Morrison. CBDB plays Parkway Brewing Co. on Sept. 27, and Chamomile & Whiskey hits Olde Salem Brewing Co. on Sept. 26.

The brewery shows are free. The farmer's market bill is $10. Greensky Bluegrass is $25. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the venue's box office, or ticketmaster.com. A presale to civic center e-mail subscribers is in play from 10 a.m. Thursday, till the public drop. Tickets are $5 more on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29.
