The Franklin County Community Chorus will be performing its Christmas concerts on Friday, December 13 and Sunday, December 15.

 On Friday, December 13, the performance will be held at Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren located at 2363 Brick Church Road, Rocky Mount, VA.  The performance will begin at 7:30 P.M.  A contact phone number for the church is 540-334-5758.

On Sunday, December 15, the performance will be held at Bethlehem Church of the Brethren located at 4250 Bethlehem Road, Boones Mill, VA.  The performance will begin at 3:00 P.M.  A contact phone number for the church is 540-334-5091

The pieces the chorus will sing include classical pieces such as “Glory to God in the Highest” by G.B. Pergolesi and “Gloria” from Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s First Mass in B Flat.  The music will also include lively carols such as “Tell us Shepherd Maids” a traditional French-Canadian carol arranged by Mary E. Caldwell as well as Lynn Shaw Bailey and Chris Pillsbury’s arrangement of another French carol, “He is Born.”  Next, the group will sing some Cartoon Favorites arranged by Andy Beck.  Be prepared to hum along with “The Most Wonderful Day of the Year” from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and others you are sure to recognize.  Finally, the chorus will include traditional carols in the “Many Moods of Christmas” arranged by Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett.

The performances are free, open to all ages of the public, and family friendly.
