Earth Friendly Friday presents guest speaker Nell Boyle,  Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Roanoke, who will discuss the successes achieved by the city in sustainability and reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.  Roanoke was the first city in Virginia to join ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability), and it won recognition from the Department of Energy as a Better Buildings Challenge Goal Achiever in 2018. After a dozen years of energy savings, Roanoke continues to push the envelope as a leader in environmental stewardship. Earth Friendly Friday is a joint presentation of the Roanoke Group of the Sierra Club and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke.
