Independent bookstore Book No Further is relocating to a larger shop in downtown Roanoke right across from the Roanoke City Market Building.
The new space is at 112 Market St. which was formerly home to The Shabby Farmhouse Girl and Ripple. Book No Further has operated at 16 West Marketplace on Church Avenue in Roanoke since October 2017, but the new location will give it more space and a prominent storefront along busy Market Street. The new store is about 1,200 square feet and will allow the store to increase inventory, add more reading-related merchandise and host author signings, writing classes and book club meetings, according to manager Doloris Vest. It will also have an expanded children's area to including space for reading and activities.
Vest said there are dozens of nationally published local authors who have increased interest in stories about the region. Book No Further's chief financial officer, Craig Coker, says the current location at 16 West has allowed the company to establish the the support of the Roanoke Valley for an independent bookstore.
“This move will allow us more growth in an industry that is resurging," he said in a news release.
The store will close at 16 West at the end of February and reopen on the city market March 5.
