There are a few different adjectives that could describe our weather for this coming week, depending on your viewpoint.
n Pleasant.
n Mild.
n Seasonable.
n Boring.
It will be all of those things.
Each day, we'll see highs generally in the 70s and lows in the 50s. A couple of mornings might dip into the 40s, as many places did Sunday, and an afternoon or two could scrape 80. That's what mid- to late September is supposed to be like.
A weak cold front is expected to push through the area today, but you won't really notice it. That may be the highlight of "weather action" this week.
Another adjective that will describe this week is "dry."
By late week, there is some chance that either a new tropical system or an upper-level low pressure system, or both, may affect the Southeast U.S. But looking at it from this far out, and with our region possibly on the fringe of any effects, it doesn't look promising to deliver drought-easing rains.
It will be the kind of week you'll regret not being able to take advantage of if you're confined to an office, but it will do nothing to help with our much bigger drought problems.
