Tim Fulton, head coach
Tim Fulton has been coaching football since 1989, as a scout, a volunteer, paid assistant and head coach.
Fulton coached in Craig County, Franklin County, and them made his way to Cave Spring High School in 2001, where he's been ever since. SWoCo sat down with Coach Fulton after practice one day to find out what he thinks about the upcoming football season for Cave Spring.
Q What are you most excited about for the upcoming season?
A I'm most excited about the opportunity this team has. The opportunity to prove itself, its unity, and show its growth.
Q What is different about this team this year?
A We're very, very young. We only have four seniors.
Q What are you most worried about?
A You worry about some playing experience. It's also, again, a great opportunity for these young boys to prove themselves. It's a great chance for them to get out there and get game experience.
Q Is there any team player specifically we should be watching for?
A: We have a bunch of very skilled players. We return a very good running back, Zac Osborne, and of course our other seniors, Daniel Maloney, Evan Sexton, and Andrew Jones. Our offensive line is a solid unit. They spent all summer and all of the off-season working together. They hardly ever missed a practice.
Q Is there anything new about the team this year?
A Our point of emphasis in the off-season was to unify the team. That has become our point of emphasis for the year.
Q What football team do you root for?
A I don't typically watch the NFL. I follow the Buccaneers. But I pull for teams where we have players, wherever we have a Cave Spring alumni playing, that is who I want to be successful.
