The filming of the second season of the British reality show "Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life" is set to begin today at Mountain Lake Hotel in Giles County, and the public is invited to attend each dance-off.

The 10-episode series follows the lives of 16 British dancers who learn and perform routines similar to those performed in the cult classic "Dirty Dancing." The movie, partly filmed at Mountain Lake, celebrated the 20th anniversary of its release last year.

In the reality show series, the couple who most emulates Johnny (Patrick Swayze's character) and Baby (Jennifer Grey's character) wins a contract with Bloc talent agency in Los Angeles.

The first season, filmed at Mountain Lake last summer, was so popular when it aired in England in October that the United Kingdom's Living Channel was contracted to do 10 more episodes, said Mountain Lake General Manager Buzz Scanland.

Dancers Amy Boyes and Jordan Darrell took home last year's prize. This year, 16 new dancers will compete.

There will be different stunts, challenges and dance routines this year, Scanland said. Also, dancing judge and British soap star Jennifer Ellison has been replaced with supermodel and dancer Kelly Brook.

Canadian dance choreographer Sean Cheesman and Miranda Garrison, the original assistant choreographer from "Dirty Dancing," will return as judges this season, Scanland said.

"If this is as good as the first time, they may be back again next year," he said.

Dance-offs are scheduled for Monday, Thursday, June 8, June 11, June 14, June 17, June 20, June 23 and June 26. Taping time for each date is 3:15 p.m.
