Lolcat a growing craze
Of all the phenomena hitting the Web lately, Lolcat is an oddity among oddities.
In addition to being rather odd, it is also rather hard to comprehend without seeing. (Lucky for you, a picture has been provided.)
In fact, people like the idea of creating unusual pictures, so much so that Lolcat has become a cult of sorts, with adherents creating pictures as fast as they can think of them.
Not only that, but a translation of the Holy Bible into the language of Lolcat is in the works. It is indeed a quickly growing craze.
Lolcat consists of pictures of cats, followed by bad grammar. But truly, Lolcat is two things: A unique language and a form of addictive photographic humor.
Actually, traditional Lolcatters consider Lolcat to be a way for their pets to express themselves, with a little help from the owners.
Lolcat is the end result of the combination of several dissimilar things.
First you take a picture of a cat or other cute animal. Then add a burst of lolcat speak.
This language is a conglomerate of leetspeak (a form of writing where some letters in a word are replaced by a numerical likeness or other letters that create an identical or similar sound), poor grammar, common Internet abbreviations (LOL, KK, OMG) and a general lack of regard for accepted spelling.
Photoshop this message onto the kitty picture, and, voila! Yuz has poifoiktion!!!1! Lyk, LOL!
