The Edge’s first-ever college awards
This week, the Edge dishes out some awards to some very special colleges from all over the United States. So, without further ado, we present The Edge’s first-ever college awards.
- Biggest college in the U.S.: Community College of the Air Force (Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. ) has 347,700 students. Second place goes to the University of Phoenix with 197,969 people enrolled.
- Smallest college in the U.S.: This is a tie between Baltimore Hebrew University and Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology (Berkeley,Calif. ) with five students each.
- Most expensive Virginia college: The University of Richmond. Tuition is $37,610 a year.
- Least expensive Virginia college: The cheapest is Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin at $2,405 a year.
- Most expensive college of 2007: The Landmark College (Putney, Vt. ) costs $41,275 a year.
- Oldest college in the U.S.: Founded in 1636, Harvard College is 371 years old.
- Most international students: New School in New York counts 22 percent of its population as international.
