The following is a partial listing of neighborhood groups:

Airlee Court Neighborhood Watch Association: Boundaries include Florist Road, Hershberger Road, Aviation Drive and Roanoke city boundary in Northwest Roanoke. Meets at 6:30 p.m. first Tuesday of the month at St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Church, Hershberger and Hubert roads. Ben Burch, 366-8407.

Bonsack Area Residents’ Coalition: Neighborhoods east of Roanoke city line to Botetourt County line along Alternate U.S. 460 to Read Mountain and south to Blue Ridge Mountains. Meets four times a year. Mike Koon, 977-3021.

Branderwood Recreation Association Inc.: Covers the Branderwood subdivision off Buck Mountain Road. Meets third Monday of the month, 5:30 p.m.

Bridlewood Property Owners Association: Covers Bridlewood subdivision off U.S. 221 South in Southwest Roanoke County.  Meetings are held first Thursday of each month. Annual meeting Nov. Margaret Beazley, president, 989-6101.

Carriage Hills Homeowners Association: Includes streets in the Carriage Hills subdivision off Martin Creek Road near U.S. 221. Meetings held four times a year. Neil Birkhoff, 989-9795.

Cherokee Hills Community Association: Open to all households of the Cherokee Hills Subdivision. Board of Directors meets quarterly in a neighborhood home, with annual association meeting in June. Tommy Helmick, 380-2920. 

Christian Heights Concerned Neighbors: Covers the 1400 blocks of Morehead Avenue and 6th, 7th and 8th streets and the 1400, 1500 and 1600 blocks of Buena Vista Boulevard Southeast. Meets second Tuesday of every other month at 7 p.m. at the Belmont Baptist Church, 825 Stewart Ave. S.E. entrance on the 9th Street S.E. side. Becky Jones, 342-0723.

Citizen’s Alert Group (Stratford Park Apts.): Meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at CSW Associates Building, 3807 Brandon Ave. S.W. Leon Callahan, 772-4312.

Clearbrook Civic League: Covers U.S. 220 and all intersecting roads from Roanoke/Roanoke Co. line to Roanoke Co./Franklin Co. line. Meets third Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. in January, April, July, and October at Civic League Building, 5359 Franklin Road S.W. Randy Kingery, 989-8037.

Cloverdale Community Civic League: Includes the Botetourt County subdivisions of Apple Tree Village, Botetourt East, Botetourt South, Runaway Village, Rosamae Gardens, British Woods, Highland Manor and Hunters Green, and the community of Cloverdale and other surrounding subdivisions. Colonial Ridge Watch: Meets third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at 2918 Brandon Ave. Tammy Spencer, 344-6366.

Crystal Creek Homeowners Association and Civic League: Open to residents of Crystal Creek Drive and citizens concerned about issues in area. Meets September through June, less often in the summer. Jack Smith, 774-6887.

Dorchester Court Neighborhood Watch: Meets second Monday of each month from 7-8 p.m. at VFW Post 1264, 4930 Grandview Road. 793-0715.

Edgewood-Morwanda-Summit Hills Neighborhood Organization: Boundaries include the Salem city limits, Melrose Avenue, 35th Street and the Salem Turnpike. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Edgewood Christian Church. Robin Murphy Kelso, 362-8579 (H) or 853-2738 (W).

Fairland Civic Organization: Boundaries are Fairland Road, Aspen Street, Cove Road and Interstate 581. Meets third Monday of the month, September through June, at 4 p.m., at Ebenezer AME Church, 1563 Lafayette Blvd. N.W., corner of Cove and Lafayette. Alfred Dowe Sr., 362-3896.

Fort Lewis Civic League: Includes West Main Street, Salem, to Roanoke River, Alleghany Drive, Butt Hollow Road, Texas Hollow Road and the accompanying area north of Interstate 81 in the Glenvar area of Roanoke County. Meets first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. (7:30 p.m. during the summer) at Glenvar Library.

Gainsboro Southwest Community Organization:  Meets second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Jefferson Street. George Heller, 344-9701 or Claudia Pannel, 345-3039.

Garden City Civic League: Covers area east of Mill Mountain from Welcome Valley and Yellow Mountain roads north to Riverland Road and east to Mount Pleasant Boulevard. Gateway Guardians Neighborhood Watch: Meets third Tuesday of every month at the Lions Club Eye Bank, Fifth and Elm streets S.W. Garvis Reynolds, 985-3188.

Georgetown Park Civic Association: Includes Georgetown Road and the streets intersecting Georgetown. Annual meeting is held in January; outings are held throughout the year. Dick Hancock, 774-5167.

Grandin Court Neighborhood Association : Meets at 7 p.m. second Thursdays of every other month at the Parks and Recreation building on 2621 Barham Road. 769-0283.  

Grayson Avenue Beautification Council: Represents residents of the 1000 to 1700 blocks of Grayson Avenue. Meets first Saturday of each month at 2 p.m. at Eureka Park Center, 1529 Carroll Ave. N.W. Evelyn Pullen, 343-8144.

Greater Deyerle Neighborhood Association: Boundaries include Brandon Avenue, Keagy Road, Salem city limits and Grandin Road. Hollins Road North Civic League: Includes the streets north of Orange Avenue between Tinker Creek and the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks and south of Singer Furniture. Mountain View Neighborhood Alliance: Meets second Tuesday of every month at 7:15 p.m. at West End Community Center, 613 12th St. S.W. Meeting time and date may vary.

Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Watch Group: Covers whole immediate Mount Pleasant area. Meets annually in April at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 3009 Mount Pleasant Blvd., and at the “National Night Out” party on the first Tuesday in August. Marie Ham, 427-3108.

Mount Pleasant Civic League: Covers Virginia 116 and all intersecting roads, Bandy Road and all intersecting roads until the Clearbrook area. Meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month, except July, at the Mount Pleasant Fire House on Jae Valley Road. Mike Roop, 427-1146.

North Lake Civic League: Includes the streets in North Lake Drive area off Peters Creek Road Northwest. Meets third Sunday of January, April, July and October at 7:30 p.m. at the North Lake Swim Club off North Lake Drive. King Harvey, 562-3062.

Northwest Crime Stoppers: Covers the Washington Heights area from Westside Boulevard, Melrose Avenue, Peters Creek Road and Hershberger Road. Duaine Boone, 366-6007.

Old Southwest Inc.:  H2 Historic District-Covers the streets between Ferdinand and Marshall avenues to downtown Roanoke, Interstate 581 and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks along the Roanoke River.
