Two shooting victims remain hospitalized in area

Virginia Tech shooting victim Sean McQuade's condition has been upgraded from serious to fair by Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Eric Earnhart, hospital spokesman, said Monday.

McQuade, of Mullica Hills, N.J., was hit five times in Norris Hall at Virginia Tech on April 16, according to what a relative told The Associated Press.

He and Kevin Sterne, of Eighty Four, Pa., had been the last shooting victims hospitalized locally. At the request of family, Sterne's condition is no longer being released by the hospital.
