Finding a spot to kill some time is a snap
Whether the day is about food or a brush with celebrity, the area has several destinations to keep you busy.

Check out the Mill Mountain Star if you haven't seen it up close lately.
Looking for something to do on your next half-day? Or the perfect way to end a date? Or just somewhere to go when you're in the car with your friends?
Look no farther.
Here is a list of some of the best places around Roanoke to check out when you just need somewhere to get away.
Dunkin Donuts
Open practically all the time, you can always head over to Dunkin Donuts for a quick snack. Plus, with many locations, it's likely that one is near you. (Check out the location on Franklin Road next to Waffle House. It has a Baskin-Robbins too!)
The City Market, downtown Roanoke
A frequent destination on half-days, the City Market is always bustling. Why not grab some fresh fruit and have a picnic in the park? (Winter jackets and all.)
K92 radio station
Who doesn't love to see local celebrities? The K92 broadcast station is on Electric Road near Ragazzi's. Drive on by with a sign, and they might give you a shout out!
Mill Mountain Star
If you haven't been to the famed star since you were 5 years old, then you need to check it out! (See who's there right now. Log onto roanokeva.gov/starcam)
