Play preview: celebrating the 80's
It was an
era that brought you big hair, blue eye shadow, the rubix cube and those famous
tunes such as "Footloose," "Man In The Mirror," "Kids in America," and many
more. Now, the Northside High School drama department will bring you "Back to
the 80s."
This play will take you into the halls and lives of the senior class of William Ocean High School that graduated in the 1980s, as remembered and seen through the eyes of Corey Palmer, who is now 30-something. The then 17-year-old Corey is madly in love with his next-door neighbor, Tiffany Houston, one of the coolest girls in the school. However, she barely notices this, as she is too busy mooning over Michael Feldman, the hottest guy around. The year commences with class president elections. Who will win? Corey, Michael or the school nerd Feargal McFerrin III?
Meanwhile the teachers are having issues of their own. Will "the new girl" Eileen ever make new friends at William Ocean and will Tiffany ever see the evil side of Michael? Will the school's prom night be a success? Will Corey ever get the girl of his dreams?
Find out those answers and more Thursday, Friday and Saturday with shows beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the NHS Auditorium. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.
