On the edge

Thoughts on ...

Have you ever driven past a college while taking a major road trip and wondered, "Man, I can't wait to walk across that fresh green grass?" Have you ever eagerly longed for the day when you, too, would be listening to those boring lectures and doing loads of homework with late nights of studying? I certainly hope not.

But let's not leave out the fun of college, like the new friends, the scent of your used one-too-many-times dorm room, the parties and the intellectual get-togethers.

Well, there is a way that every high school student could experience some of this now, and that is through enjoying "High School Day" at colleges. Many colleges and universities hold a high school day that gives students a glimpse at how much fun college life will be. College life is not all about studying and working to afford books and tuition. It's also about learning how to grow up, how to succeed in America and how to find ways where you can enjoy searching for success.

For example, Hampton University's motto is, "We set you up for success." That is great, and many other universities aspire to achieve the same goal for their students.

Therefore, every student should experience "High School Day." It will broaden your eyes to a totally new world.
