Ready for some rest and relaxation?

Make your spring break a blast with these suggestions.

How will you spend your spring break? Will you work? Do you plan on going out of town? Or will you keep it simple and hang out with friends? Here's a few things that may make for a good plan for the break.

  • Seniors, are you still uncertain about what college you should attend? Visit the colleges in the valley, such as Hollins University (www.hollins.edu), Radford University (www.radford.edu), Roanoke College (roanoke.edu), and Virginia Tech (www.vt.edu). Check out the colleges' Web sites and consider scheduling a tour.
  • Do you like to travel? You and some friends could go to one of the amazing theme parks within a few hours' drive, such as Kings Dominion (kingsdominion.com) in Doswell or Busch Gardens (www.buschgardens.com) in Williamsburg. In Greensboro, N.C., there is also Wet N' Wild Emerald Pointe (emeraldpointe.com).
  • Want something fun to do that is less expensive? You and some friends could have a get-together at a nice area park and just hang out and enjoy the fresh air and the breeze.
  • Want a little more entertainment? Get a group of friends together and go bowling or to Thunder Valley in Salem.
  • Sort through your stuff. Spring cleaning is a great way to get rid of things you don't want or need. Also, consider donating some of those items to help others.
