School is winding down and summer is approaching. That means three months of sleeping in and leisure, such as lying by the pool. But plenty of teens who need more money than what they can beg out of Mom and Dad will be searching for their first job this summer. To help you not get fired before your first paycheck, The Edge lists six things to avoid while at work.

1. Having a full-out text message conversation about what you should wear the next day probably isn’t the best idea. Especially in front of your boss.

2. Low-cut tank tops and booty shorts aren’t considered proper work attire.

3. Playing with your hair and/or biting your nails in front of customers doesn’t give off the best impression. Cleanliness is key.

4. Being 15 minutes late to work because you just had to watch the season finale of “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila” isn’t an acceptable excuse. This doesn’t become acceptable if your favorite guy OR girl is left.

5. The phrase “Oh, my bad, homes” should be saved for the streets and not for the workplace.

6. Being all over your boyfriend or girlfriend at work is a bad idea. Just don’t go there.
