Kory Robertson of Martinsville was one of five Virginia Tech players who signed free-agent deals with NFL clubs Monday.
Robertson, a 6-foot-2, 340-pound defensive tackle who starred at Magna Vista High, landed a deal with the Miami Dolphins.
Linebacker Vince Hall, the most decorated Hokie who failed to get selected in the NFL Draft this past weekend, and wide receiver Josh Hyman both signed with St. Louis.
Safety D.J. Parker signed with San Francisco, and defensive tackle Barry Booker struck a deal with Tennessee.
Tech’s eight players chosen in the draft ranked second only behind Southern Cal, which had 10 players selected.
