Yet again, Virginia Tech's offensive coordinator abandoned the run game, which Kansas could not stop. Here we have yet another blown bowl game where Tech's offensive coaches were outcoached once again.

Over the last few years, the offensive players haven't been able to make a difference because of these coaches. How many more years do we have to suffer?

Coaching remains a problem for the Hokies

I hate to write this letter at this time since my emotions are running high, but I feel this needs to be said.

Thursday's loss could have been prevented with some coaching leadership.

The first article that Aaron McFarling wrote on the Orange Bowl was about how Kansas went down a day earlier and was working out in full pads under the hot sun.

What does this tell me? It tells me that the Virginia Tech team did not take the Kansas team seriously. If not by the players, then by sure by the coaching staff.

I feel sorry for the Tech fans, especially the ones who invested hundreds of dollars and went down to witness this giveaway game. It was bad enough watching it on TV.

Three things Coach Frank Beamer should do:

1. Get yourself a new offensive coordinator. The announcers questioned the play-calling all night, especially in the second half. I know that Bryan Stinespring did not throw those interceptions, but they were pass plays that maybe should not have been called. You should have stayed with the run.

2. You were outcoached, Coach Beamer. You know that. Since you are the special teams coach, you need to take a good look at yourself. If anyone but you were the special teams coach, you might be thinking of replacing him.

3. Regarding Tyrod Taylor: He is not able to take the physical punishment or pounding. He will stay hurt most of his career at Tech. You need a top-notch quarterback who does not turn the ball over and keeps your defense off the field.

I do hope that the next time Tech has a chance to play in a BCS game, you and your coaching staff will take this game as seriously as Kansas did. Kansas wanted it more and prepared for it more.
