CHRISTIANSBURG - Suspended Virginia Tech running back Mike Imoh is expected to plead no contest today to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, abruptly agreeing Tuesday to take the same deal offered to his two teammates.

Court officials canceled a jury trial scheduled Thursday and Friday for Imoh's appeal on charges that he, along with receiver Brenden Hill and quarterback Marcus Vick, allowed three teenagers to drink liquor and encouraged them to strip during a party Jan.27 at the Blacksburg apartment shared by Vick and Hill. Neither defense attorney Christopher Tuck nor Montgomery County Commonwealth's Attorney Joey Showalter would comment on the case Tuesday.

The plea agreement inked by Vick and Hill calls for three misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor to be merged into one charge punishable by a $100 fine and 24 hours of community service. That deal was offered to all three players, attorneys have said.

Imoh's decision comes a day after Circuit Judge Ray Grubbs ruled that Imoh could not defend himself by saying he thought the girls - two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old - were Radford University students. Tuck had argued that the statute on contributing to the delinquency of a minor requires the act to be "willful" and that Imoh couldn't willingly break the law unless he knew the victims' true ages.

Grubbs ruled late Monday that "lack of knowledge" was not a defense. The judge also ruled that Tuck could make no reference to the victims' characters or any bad acts they might have been involved in before meeting up with the athletes Jan.27.

All three players were convicted of three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after a daylong trial May20 in Montgomery County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. One of the three victims testified that she and her friends were given liquor to drink, encouraged to strip and eventually two of the girls had sex with the men.

Vick was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $2,250. Hill was sentenced to 20 days in jail and fined $1,500. Imoh received a 10-day jail sentence and a $750 fine.
