Wisconsin to visit Virginia Tech in ACC-Big Ten Challenge

Wisconsin, which reached the Sweet 16 last month, will visit the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team on Monday, Dec. 1 in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

Virginia will visit Minnesota the following night, the ACC announced Tuesday.

It will be the first meeting between Tech and the Badgers, who won the Big Ten regular-season and tournament crowns this year. Coach Bo Ryan led Wisconsin to a school-record 31 wins. Three starters will be back, although not All-Big Ten center Brian Butch.

UVa leads its series with Minnesota 4-1. The Golden Gophers beat UVa in the 1999 Challenge, with UVa returning the favor in the 2003 Challenge. Tubby Smith will return four starters from a team that went 20-14 this year, including a first-round NIT loss.

The times and TV have not yet been determined. Here’s the entire schedule:
