BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech football team has moved up today's open scrimmage to avoid expected inclement weather.

The Hokies will begin practice at 11 a.m. in Lane Stadium, with a 78-play scrimmage expected to start at 11:28. Tech originally planned to practice at night.

The practice is the last opportunity fans have to be able to see the Hokies in action before the season opener. A third August scrimmage next Saturday is close to the public.

While last week's scrimmage involved primarily young players, this one is expected to feature players from the first and second teams.
