RICHMOND - Virginia Tech fans saw some familiar faces as the Washington Redskins opened training camp Thursday.
Wide receiver Josh Morgan, cornerback DeAngelo Hall, center/guard Will Montgomery and outside linebacker Darryl Tapp wore the Hokies' maroon and burnt orange.
After Thursday's inaugural practice at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center, Morgan said there is something special about playing with former college teammates.
"You always have a special bond with the guys you went to school with," he said. "I came after Hall left, but there's always that extra bond there, knowing that you went to the same place and had the same coaches and same experiences."
In other camp news, the Redskins placed defensive end Adam Carriker, cornerback Josh Wilson and offensive lineman Maurice Hurt on the active physically unable to perform list before their first training camp practice Thursday.
Carriker is scheduled to have a third surgery on a right leg injury suffered last season.
Wilson is recovering from left shoulder surgery, and Hurt is recovering from a knee operation.
