The Virginia Tech men’s basketball team will play in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., next season, Tech coach James Johnson said Wednesday.
As part of the event, the Hokies will play two home games against yet-to-be-named foes. No matter how Tech does in those two games, it will advance to the Brooklyn portion of the event.
Tech will be joined in Brooklyn by Michigan State, which lost in the Sweet 16 this year; Oklahoma, which also made the NCAAs; and Seton Hall. The semifinals will be Nov. 22, with the final and third-place game on Nov. 23. The Nov. 22-23 games will air on truTV. Tech’s Nov. 22 foe has not yet been named.
