The revival of the tight end continued late Monday at Virginia, which took a football commitment from 6-foot-6, 225-pound Zachary Swanson from Katy, Texas.

Swanson earlier had committed to Stanford but re-opened his recruiting when Stanford asked that he delay his enrollment until January 2011.

Swanson also had offers from Miami, California, Arkansas and Oklahoma State, among other schools, according to rivals.com.

Another player who committed to Virginia in the past week, quarterback and Prep League offensive player of the year Jake McGee from Collegiate School in Richmond, is seen as a possible tight end.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Virginia was planning to sign 18 players Wednesday.
