Mac McDonald’s successor as the radio voice of Virginia’s football and men’s basketball teams will be 32-year-old Dave Koehn, most recently the voice of Vermont men’s basketball.

“We feel we have a real star in the making” said Doug Paschal, Vice President and General Manager of CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, UVa’s multimedia rights partner.

Koehn is a graduate of the Kansas school of journalism and served as voice of Sam Houston State and Texas Lutheran before going to Vermont.
Koehn, who currently handles play-by-play for baseball’s Vermont Lake Monsters, begins work at UVa on July 7.
