Virginia took a football commitment Sunday from J.J. Jackson, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end at Woodgrove High School in Loudoun County.

Jackson had 80 tackles as a junior, including 13 sacks.

Jackson gives Virginia four commitments for the class of 2014.

In the last week, the Cavaliers had broken off ties with Lakeland, Fla., defensive lineman Chris Nelson, who had reopened his recruiting after an earlier commitment to UVa.

Jackson, originally from Ohio, moved to Virginia in the ninth grade.
