RADFORD -- Chad Harris drove into Motor Mile Speedway on Saturday having not won a race there since 2004.
He left with two wins and the Late Model Stock points lead after winning both Landmark Builders/Dublin Developers/Cintas twin 75 races.
Harris started from the pole in the first race and led every lap for his first victory.
The top six drivers from the first race drew for position in the second race with Harris getting the pole again and leading from lap 3 on for the second win.
"It's super," Harris said after the first race. "I can't say enough for the guys.
"I mean to get back in victory lane, of course, is great for me, but I'm happy for everybody associated with the team."
In the first race, Harris led flag-to-flag, and, coupled with Philip Morris having car troubles, took over the points lead at the track after entering the day four points behind Morris.
"It's great ... any time you can lead the points with the bunch of guys we run against, but it's way too early to worry about it," Harris said.
The second race proved much more difficult, as Harris had to fend off Morris in a green-white checkered finish.
Harris came out of turn 4 high and edged out the reigning track champion.
Brandon Dean finished third behind Morris to nab two top-five finishes on the evening.
Tommy Lemons Jr. finished fourth and Derrick Lancaster finished fifth.
In the first race, Frank Deiny Jr. took second with Nick Smith in third.
Dean finished fourth and Lancaster ended up in fifth.
In the Limited Sportsman race, Roger Parrish Jr. got to watch as Cory Donley and Matt Taylor battled for first all race long right in front of him.
He watched as they got into each other in turn 3 of the last lap, watched both of them fall out of contention and then watched the checkered flag wave as he crossed the finish line first.
John Griffin followed in second and Dean Sutphin finished third.
In a frightening moment in the race, Anthony Barnes was challenging for fifth early on but his car burst into flames on the frontstretch.
Barnes managed to get out of his car in turn 1 and was released by the paramedics after receiving treatment at the track. Brent Bell led every lap in his Street Stock win. Doug Moore placed second and Tony Vance took third.
Ryan Adams won the Mini Cup race with Justin Laduke in second and Hunter Koschara in third.
All race results were unofficial as of press time.
