J.D. Gibbs and Carl Edwards spoke briefly after Saturday's race at Bristol, shortly after Edwards had beaten Gibbs' driver Kyle Busch and then had a post-race altercation on the track. Edwards said that Gibbs, president of Joe Gibbs Racing, told him that "you reap what you sow.''
J.D. Gibbs explained Monday his discussion with Edwards:
"I was leaving the NASCAR hauler and walking back to the [team] hauler and he kind of grabbed me and said, "Hey,' " Gibbs said of Edwards.
"Most of what we said we'll just keep to ourselves but ... I did say, 'Hey, you reap what you sow,' but I also said that goes for me, that goes for Kyle, that goes for everybody. It wasn't a big deal. It wasn't just a deal where I was telling him ... hey, we're going to come after you.''
