RICHMOND - Mike Sciorra of Chantilly shot a 1-under-par 70 Monday to take the individual lead in the 6A state golf tournament, and lead the Chargers to a commanding lead in the team standings as well.
Chantilly, which had four players shoot 74 or better, has a team score of 287 - 19 shots ahead of second-place Riverbend.
Franklin County's Landon Prillaman, playing as an individual, shot a 76 and is six shots off of the lead going into today's final round.
Patrick Henry's Hill Donihe shot an 81 in his first round.

MARION - Taylor Richardson recorded 10 kills and five digs as the Scarlet Hurricane (11-4) defeated the Maroons (9-10). Teammate Callee Cox finished with nine kills and two digs and Jordan Williams recorded 29 assists and nine digs. Jasmine Harber led the Maroons with eight blocks, three kills and seven digs.

INDEPENDENCE - Alex Hawks recorded a team-high 20 kills and 17 digs to help the Spartans remain undefeated on the season. Alex Pennington had 18 digs, 16 assists and five kills for Giles (14-0), while Emily Harless added 10 digs and four blocks. Camryn McGrady had 13 kills and five digs for Grayson County (12-3). Autumn Halsey logged seven digs, and Mary Meier chipped in five kills.

Kimber Butler recorded eight blocks as the Terriers (5-8) defeated the Celtics (11-3) in comeback fashion. Teammate Jordan Williamson hit six kills for William Byrd.Alexandra Arnold recorded 15 kills, four aces and ten digs to lead Roanoke Catholic. Teammate Sam Edge had nine kills, three aces and 13 digs.
