Liberty Christian Academy volleyball won eight games against four different pool opponents before defeating James River of Midlothian in the first place pool-winners match to claim the Patrick Henry Tournament title.
The tournament format featured two pools of five teams. The first pool consisted of host Patrick Henry, William Fleming, Bassett, Jefferson Forest and James River of Midlothian. The second pool was comprised of Franklin County, E.C. Glass, Liberty Christian Academy, Liberty and Cosby from Midlothian.
Each team played a two-game match against every other team in their pool. The number of individual games won over the course of those four matches determined the team's place in the pool.
After pool play finished, the corresponding places in each pool played each other. In the fifth place match, William Fleming defeated Liberty. Fourth place went to E.C. Glass by beating Bassett. Franklin County downed Patrick Henry for third place, and Cosby defeated Jefferson Forest in the second place match.
