BEDFORD — Katie Martin had six kills and an ace and Audrey McCombs handed out 12 assists and two aces but the Minettes lost two close games to start the match and couldn’t recover, losing in three. MaHalea Scicchitano chipped in 12 digs and two aces and Casey Carr added 10 digs and two aces for Liberty (1-1).

Roanoke Valley Christian def. Christian Heritage 25-12, 25-12, 25-13

Maria Jones recorded a team-high eight aces to help the Eagles (5-0, 3-0) defeat the Knights (1-1, 0-1) in straight games. Emily Conner logged seven kills and added two aces. Haley Stump had a team-high eight kills in the victory.

ELLISTON — Shana Davis had 20 assists and four digs to help the Green Wave defeat the Mustangs (1-4, 0-0) in four games.Tiffany Purdue logged nine kills and eight aces, and Madison Bragg recorded six kills and an ace for the Green Wave. Aston Graham had five kills and five aces for the Mustangs in the losing effort.

Barrett Kemp had eight kills and two blocks to lead the Spartans (2-2, 0-0) over the Terriers (0-3, 0-0) in straight games. Sophie Girgrah added eight kills and three blocks for Salem, and Katherine Danstrom contributed 21 digs and two aces in the win.

Liberty Christian def. Roanoke Catholic 25-17, 25-22, 25-18

LYNCHBURG — Sam Edge and Allison George each had five kills and Ashley Deer dished out 20 assists but the Celtics fell to the Bulldogs in three games. Anne Deer also contributed nine digs and a kill for Roanoke Catholic (2-2).

GALAX — Susan Davis had 27 assists and 21 digs to help the Maroon Tide (5-0, 0-0) defeat the Buffaloes in four games. Paige Hanks had 21 digs and nine kills for the Maroon Tide. DALEVILLE — The Knights snapped Lord Botetourt’s (2-1, 0-0) two-game winning streak by defeating the Cavaliers in five games. Greysen Newberry had 10 blocks, nine digs and seven kills for the Cavaliers. Courtney Baker contributed 16 digs and five kills, and Emily Spickard had 22 assists in the losing effort.

Piper Roe had nine kills and four blocks and Olivia Sass served up 30 assists as the Knights defeated the Vikings. Fallon Delp added 15 digs for Cave Spring (2-0). Aleah Keaton led Northside (6-2) with 18 kills and four blocks while Carly Altizer dished out 32 assists, Olivia Earls had 16 digs and Alexis Hueston added five blocks.

HILLSVILLE — The Cougars got a victory in five games over the Cavaliers in the second meeting of the season between the two schools. Eustaica Smith had 15 kills, 11 digs, and one ace for the Cavaliers. Cheyenne Strickland recorded 20 assists, 12 digs, nine kills and three aces. Jessica Sheek had 14 kills, and Grace Lindsey had 21 digs in the losing effort.

Megan Ward had 13 digs, nine kills and four aces to help the Highlanders (4-0, 0-0) defeat the Rockets (1-3, 0-0) in straight games. Lexie Trinchere had a team-high 25 assists, as well as four kills. Olivia Ward recorded a team-high seven aces and four kills, and Amber Smith added six kills and two blocks in the win.
