Former Franklin County athletic director T.J. Shepardson has been hired as the new AD at William Fleming High School.

Shepardson’s first official day on the job was Monday.

Shepardson was the athletic director at Franklin County from 2007 until this spring when his position was eliminated because of budget cuts. He is a former athletic director at Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas.

Shepardson replaces John Otey as Fleming’s AD. Otey left Fleming to become the athletic director at Jefferson Forest High School.

Otey held the AD position at Fleming for two years.

Shepardson becomes the ninth athletic director at Fleming — either on a fulltime or part-time basis — since 2004 when John Harris stepped down after 10 years on the job.

Fleming’s other ADs during that span have been Robert Wray, John Elliott, Roland Lovelace, Zach Hayden, George Miller and Matt Kesler.
