Player of the Year
RYAN COALE | Rockbridge County | Junior

That will be his position at VCU, where he is already verbally committed after fielding an additional 10 Division I offers. He also played third, shortstop, and pitched this year. A left-handed hitter, he started the season batting .818 and leveled off to .436 with four triples, a home run, 10 steals, 16 runs, and 11 RBIs. He pitched the No. 6 Wildcats to an upset district tournament victory over Lord Botetourt.

Pitcher of the Year
RYAN LAURIA | Hidden Valley | Senior
LAURIA, the River Ridge District player of the year, went 7-2 with a 1.37 earned run average. In 51 innings, he struck out 65. Lauria lost a one-run, eight-inning game to AA runner-up Tunstall in the Region IV semifinals. He will pitch for Louisville next year. Before that, he will play in the VHSCA all-star game.
