Player of the Year
SARA WRIGHT | Pulaski County | Senior
WRIGHT, the River Ridge District player of the year and an All-Region IV pick, impressed area college and high school coaches with her hitting prowess. Wright, who moved from first base to shortstop during the season to replace a sidelined teammate, hit .534 with eight doubles, seven homers, 26 RBIs, 26 runs scored, six stolen bases and a 1.034 slugging percentage. She will be a member of James Madison's team as a walk-on.

CASSIDY HENSLEY | Liberty | Senior
HENSLEY, the Seminole District pitcher of the year and an All-Region III pick, went 16-5 with a 0.75 ERA, 187 strikeouts and 22 walks in 129 1⁄3 innings. Playing for a team that started six freshmen, Hensley had 13 shutouts, 20 complete games, two no-hitters and a perfect game. Hensley, who had 757 career strikeouts, will be a nonplaying student at JMU. She has made the All-Timesland first or second team in all four years at Liberty.

TAYLOR ASIMAKOPOULOS | CAVE SPRING | Pitcher | Junior
Asimakopoulos, the River Ridge District and Region IV pitcher of the year, helped the Knights to a sweep of district, regional and state crowns. ... She went 23-3, including 8-0 in the postseason. ... She had a 2.24 ERA, 133 strikeouts and 66 walks in 168 1⁄3 innings. ... She pitched 24 complete games, including a five-hitter in the Group AA final. ... She also hit .357.

CHRISTENE PHILLIPS | FLOYD COUNTY | Pitcher | Junior
Phillips was the Three Rivers District and Region C pitcher of the year. ... She helped the Buffaloes win regional and state titles, as well as the Three Rivers regular-season crown. ... She was 13-2 with a 1.02 ERA, 76 strikeouts, 29 walks and one save in 95 1⁄3 innings. ... She pitched eight complete games, including a seven-hitter in the Group A Division 2 final. ... She also hit .384.

MACKENZIE CHITWOOD | FRANKLIN COUNTY | Catcher | Sophomore
Chitwood, an All-Northwest Region pick, hit .468 with 12 doubles, one triple, eight homers, 33 RBIs and 30 runs scored. ... She helped her team reach the Northwest Region semifinals.

EDEN DURNIL | CARROLL COUNTY | Infield | Junior
Durnil, an All-Region IV pick, hit .518 with 10 doubles, five homers, 25 RBIs, 34 runs scored and eight stolen bases. ... A shortstop, Durnil helped her team reach the Region IV semifinals.

KELSEY JARRETT | NORTHSIDE | Infield | Senior
Jarrett, an All-Region III pick, hit .533 with seven doubles, one triple, three homers, 24 RBIs and 29 runs scored. ... Jarrett, a second baseman, helped the Vikings win the Blue Ridge District regular-season and tournament titles.

JENNA SPRINKLE | JAMES RIVER | Infield | Senior
Sprinkle, the Pioneer District and Region C player of the year, helped James River make the state semifinals. ... Sprinkle, who plays first base, hit .494 with eight doubles, one homer, 25 RBIs, 22 runs scored and nine stolen bases. ... A Christopher Newport recruit, Sprinkle helped the Knights win the Pioneer District regular-season and tournament titles.

Carpenter, an All-Region III second-team pick, hit .533 with eight doubles, one triple, three homers, 24 RBIs, 33 runs scored and 10 stolen bases. ... Carpenter, who did not commit any errors, helped her team reach the Blue Ridge District tournament title game.
