HILLSVILLE - Abby Beatty hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning and Taylor Asimakopoulus pitched a 5-hitter as Cave Spring beat Tazewell 6-2 to win the Region IV softball title and earned a home game for the quarterfinals of the Group AA tournament.
The Knights (21-4), who will host Broadway in the quarterfinals, scored in every inning except for the second and had 12 hits overall.

Franklin County's Seneff, Fleming's Craft, Bonds place at AAA state meet
Timesland got its second pole vault medal in as many days Saturday at the VHSL Group AAA outdoor track and field championships Saturday in Newport News.
Coy Seneff of Franklin County cleared 14-3 to finish third, a day after Patrick Henry's Caroline Brailsford won the girls vault.
Lucas Wratschko of Oakton won the event by clearing 14-6.
William Fleming's Warren Craft finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 45-10.25, while teammate Khalil Bonds finished sixth in the 400 with a time of 49.50.
The Colonels' 1,600 relay team of Bonds, Craft, Aaron Mason and Quashawn Robertson finished eighth in 3:24.29.
South County High School scored 50 points and won the girls division. Western Branch was second with 37.
In the boys division, Forest Park won with 68 points, Western Branch (45) was second.

VIENNA, Va. - Host Madison (19-1) scored 10 of the first 11 goals of the game and went on to advance to Tuesday's semifinals at Westfield High School.
Jordan Hayes scored three goals for Salem (15-4). Savannah Stevens and Cate Pace had two goals apiece. Kayla Winstead and Makenzie Haymaker also scored.

Lexi Denny scored two goals - one in each half - and Radford (17-2-1) earned a home game for the Group A quarterfinals by topping James River (14-5) on Friday at Salem High School.
Keeper Amanda Joyce made eight saves for the Bobcats.
