ROCKY MOUNT - Ryan Peevey drove in Bryan Scalf in the top of the seventh inning as Franklin County defeated the visiting Bassett 5-4.
Peevey recorded two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles (9-8). Reliever Chad Houston entered the game in the sixth inning, striking out one and earning the win.
Samuel Stambaugh had one hit and two RBIs for Bassett (12-4). Trevor Martin struck out three in the complete-game loss.
Chilhowie 14, Rural Retreat 0, 5 inn.
CHILHOWIE - Tyler Pierce and Dalton Armstrong each belted a three-run home run in a five-inning Warriors win.
Dalton Bennett added three RBIs and Forrest Haga tripled for Chilhowie (14-1, 5-0).
Ryan Chandler doubled for Rural Retreat (4-9, 1-3).
Dustin Creasy pitched four innings, striking out seven and giving up just one hit in the win.
Parkway Christian 16,
Dayspring Christian 1
Lawrence Huff and David Brink led host Parkway Christian from the mound and the plate as the Eagles routed Dayspring Christian.
Huff had two hits and four RBIs, while Brink had two hits and three RBIs.
The two combined to hold the Lions (2-9, 0-4) to two hits.
Fort Chiswell 12,
PH-Glade Spring 2, 5 inn.
MAX MEADOWS - Brett Mabry and Coleman Thomas each had two run home runs in a five inning Pioneers win.
Coleman also pitched for Fort Chiswell (6-6) throwing seven strikeouts and allowing four hits.
Craig Eifert of PH-Glad Spring had two hits with two runs scored and Caleb Falyers had two hits and two RBIs.
Patrick Henry 10, Rockbridge County 9
LEXINGTON - Maddie Blackwell scored four goals and the Patriots edged Rockbridge County.
Ashley Lemon had three goals for Patrick Henry (9-2, 5-1). Hannah Cunningham added two goals and an assist.
Virginia Paulk, Ariel Paulk, and Keeley Fresh each had two goals to lead the Wildcats (4-6, 3-5). Goalie Emily Coleman recorded 13 saves.
MOUNTAIN EMPIRE DISTRICT
Galax 3, Graham 1
GALAX - The Maroon Tide continued their perfect season behind two goals from Andres Medina.
Junior Espinosa also scored and recorded one assist for Galax (11-0, 4-0). Mesiel Solis had six saves for Galax.
The lone goal for Graham was scored on a penalty kick in the first half.
Grayson County 7, Fort Chiswell 1
MAX MEADOWS - Adam Wyatt had three goals and one assist as the Blue Devils defeated the Pioneers.
Caleb Billings added two goals, while Micah Cowley and Mario Ruiz added a goal each. Ashley Spurlin had an assist for Grayson County (7-3, 3-2).
Joe Stoneman was the goal scorer for Fort Chiswell (4-7, 1-4).
Martinsville 0, Patrick County 0
MARTINSVILLE - Cougars keeper Christian Ruscelloni recorded 11 saves to hold off the Bulldogs attack and lead Patrick County (2-5-2, 0-5-1) to a tie with Martinsville for the first time.
The tie came after two five-minute overtime periods and great keeper play from both Ruscelloni and Martinsville (6-2-4, 2-0-2) keeper Cody Martin.
James River 7, Highland 1
BUCHANAN - Sam Baker had two goals and two assists to lead the Knights to a win over the Rams.
Chase Haynes scored one goal and had four assists. Dylan Flint, Gabe Gibson, Jourdan Aylor, and Zach St.Clair also scored for James River (4-7, 4-0).
Jakkris Saoalon scored the one goal for Highland. Goalkeeper Justin Sprouse had 17 saves for the Rams.
THREE RIVERS DISTRICT
Radford 2, Giles 0
RADFORD - Caleb Findley and Robert Tuosto were the goal scorers as the Bobcats downed Giles.
Findley's goal was assisted by Conner Williams. Tuosto got an assist from Juan Prez as the Bobcats (10-0, 4-0) remain undefeated.
Goalkeeper Jenson Doffin had 12 saves for Giles (8-3-1, 3-1).
Auburn 3, Narrows 0
RINER - Chris Bane and Windee Weaver each scored for Auburn as the Eagles overcame the Green Wave.
The third goal for Auburn (8-4-1) was an own-goal scored by a Narrows defender.
Eagles keeper Jeff Monday had eight saves to shut out Narrows (0-10).
Jamie Scott stopped 12 shots in the loss.
E.C. Glass 1, Patrick Henry 0
Michael Kenney scored with a finish at the six-yard line off a cross in the first half to lead the Hilltoppers (9-1-1) over the Patriots (7-3-3).
Patrick Henry was led by keeper Christian Paget, who recorded three saves. The Patriots had 11 shots, seven of which were on goal.
Franklin County 2, Bassett 0
ROCKY MOUNT - Autumn Johnson scored off of a cross from Daishi Dudley and Taylor Smith volleyed home a corner kick from Sydney Varney as the Eagles shut out the Bengals.
Jordan Dudley made four saves in net for Franklin County (7-4-1, 5-0), while Alvalous Barbour made 17 saves in goal for Bassett (6-3-1, 3-2).
THREE RIVERS DISTRICT
Radford 7, Giles 0
RADFORD - Lexi Denny scored her 100th career goal in the Bobcats win over the Spartans (7-5, 2-2) and finished with four goals.
Arianne Perez, Megan Mitchell, and Bethany Pierce had one goal each for Radford (8-2-1, 2-0), which led 4-0 at the half.
Rayna Phillips had five saves for the Bobcats.
North Cross 11,
Fredericksburg Academy 0
FREDERICKSBURG - North Cross got goals from 11 different players in the lopsided win.
Gussie Revercomb stopped both shots on goal from Fredericksburg (0-11) to preserve the shutout for the Raiders (14-0-1).
Chilhowie 10, Rural Retreat 0, 10 inn.
CHILHOWIE - Mary Luttrell scored four runs, doubled twice and drove in a run as the Warriors downed the Indians in a game that was called after six innings due to the 10-run rule.
Luttrell had three total hits and ended with three stolen bases, bringing her total to 16 for the season.
Pitcher Hannah Compton allowed four hits and no walks; she also had two hits for Chilhowie (6-8, 3-1).
Chassity Jones of Rural Retreat had three of the four hits for the Indians (3-10-1, 2-5).
Patrick County 15, Martinsville 1
MARTINSVILLE - Whitney Scott had 14 strikeouts and allowed only two hits in a complete game for Patrick County as the Cougars defeated Martinsville.
Ebony Reynolds had two hits and four RBIs as Julia Hutchens had three singles for Patrick County (11-6, 5-1).
Martinsville (0-3, 0-2) was led by Juliet Ellis' one hit and Helen Martin's inside-the-park homerun.
Carroll County 18, Galax 2, 5 inn.
HILLSVILLE - Eustacia Smith drove in five runs and helped the Cavaliers to a five-inning win over the Maroon Tide.
Smith tripled twice and Grace Lindsey added two doubles and two RBIs for Carroll (10-5).
Taylor Cummings led Galax (3-10) with two RBIs on one hit.
Eden Durnell allowed four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five for the win.
Wednesday's late game
Radford 4, James River 0
RADFORD - Lexi Denny scored three goals Wednesday to lead the Bobcats to a win.
Megan Mitchell also scored for Radford. Radford's Rayna Phillips had 15 saves.
