Timesland Player of the Year - offense

PORTER ABELL | Rockbridge County | Senior quarterback

Abell, 6-0, 185, set eight school records and was named Region III offensive player of the year after leading Rockbridge County to the Division 3 regional final. He ran for two touchdowns and passed for one TD in a 28-24 playoff loss to eventual state champion Brookville. Abell finished with 1,813 rushing yards and 26 TDs on 243 carries. He passed for 1,031 yards and eight more TDs with just three interceptions. He rushed for 246 yards and accounted for six TDs in a playoff win over Liberty. Abell signed with Richmond.
